A liquid absorbing sheet having a liquid absorbing resin layer, the liquid absorbing resin layer exhibiting excellent liquid absorbing property to a nonaqueous electrolyte of nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery as a constituent of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery pack (especially a lithium ion nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery pack), wherein as the liquid absorbing resin layer of liquid absorbing sheet, use is made of one obtained by exposing to energy radiation, such as ultraviolet rays, a monomer composition comprising a monofunctional monomer component (A), the component (A) consisting of a polyethylene glycol acrylate monomer and an acrylic monomer having an amido bond, and a polyfunctional monomer component (B) so as to effect polymerization thereof.
