<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium which is excellent in bleeding with the passage of time, light fastness and ozone resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording medium having a coloring material receptive layer on a substrate, the coloring material receptive layer has one kind or at least two kinds of groups to be selected from an alkylthio group, an arylthio group, a thiocarbonyl group and a thiocyanate group.
