<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image protecting film which enables smooth performance of thermal transfer processing, which imparts good protective properties to an image surface and which eliminates the fear that inconvenience, such as set-off and blocking, may be caused by the formation of a protective layer, and an image protecting method and overcoated recorded matter, using the image protecting film. <P>SOLUTION: This image protecting film 1 comprises a substrate 2, and the protective layer 3 which is peelably laminated on the substrate 2 and thermally transferred onto the image surface of the recorded matter. The protective layer 3 has a two-layer structure comprising: a first protective layer 3a which is laminated on the substrate 2 and which serves as its outermost surface layer, when thermally transferred onto the image surface of the recorded matter; and a second protective layer 3b which functions as a layer to be bonded to the image surface. The layer 3a, which is mainly composed of a crystalline resin with a crystallinity of 0.8 or more, is resistant to deformation and excellent in blocking resistance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
