<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that makes the sequence of double-sided printing optimum by changing the sequence of printing pages according to the various conditions of printed matter and performing double-sided printing that matches the performance of an engine. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus performs double-sided printing by inverting paper on which a printing operation is finished, then re-feeding the paper and performing printing on the unprinted side of the re-fed paper. The image forming apparatus includes two printing-wait lists showing the sequence of printing which is provided to realize an inter-leaf system for increasing the productivity of double-sided printing by placing a plurality of sheets of paper onto a transport path.
