<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stream switching device, program and method which can output an arbitrary stream selected from among a plurality of streams inputted. <P>SOLUTION: A stream switching device 1 switches a stream based on transmitting station switching information including information for switching a transmitting station which transmits a stream and a reception channel reservation information, transmitted from a reception terminal placed on the reception side which receives the stream, including information for preliminarily reserving a reception of a reception channel to be switched over to a reception channel which distributes a stream composing contents which a viewer on the reception side desires to watch.
