<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front light capable of suppressing loss light caused in that light transmitted to a light guide plate penetrates to outside due to a deflection pattern, increasing light emitted from a light emitting surface, and suppressing noise light emitted from the light guide plate directly to observer's eyes. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitted from a light source 23 of the front light 21 is introduced into the light guide plate 30 and transmitted inside the light guide plate 30. The light, when fully reflected by a slanted surface 25a of a recess part 25 formed on the surface of the light guide plate 30 is emitted from the light emitting surface 32 at the rear surface of the light guide plate 30. If the light introduced into the recess part 25 penetrates to outside through the recess part 25, the penetrating light is introduced again into the light guide plate 30 from a projection part 26 formed at the back of the recess part 25. The light introduced through the projection part 26 is fully reflected by a slanted surface 26a formed on the projection part 26 and emitted through the light emitting surface 32 of the light guide plate 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
