<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a situation where a power source of control circuit for performing data processing is intercepted carelessly. <P>SOLUTION: In a state where a grip 34 incorporating a second battery 33 is mounted on a bar-code reader main part incorporating a first battery 27, when a second battery temperature sensing circuit 37 detects that a removal preparatory operation of the second battery 33 is performed, a second CPU 24b determines whether own operational state is maintainable by the fir1st battery 27, and when it determines the state is unmaintainable, it issues a shutdown instruction to a first CPU 24a. upon receipt of the shutdown instruction, the first CPU 24a executes the shutdown processing in which halt of operation is carried out after storing the data under processing in a memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
