<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image encoding techniques for encoding a three-dimensional image with high compression rate at high speed by using a memory of a small capacity. <P>SOLUTION: A one-dimensional frame image is generated by scanning frame images except for a terminal frame image, an encoded frame image is generated by applying sectional linear approximation processing to the inside of each one-dimensional frame image, a one-dimensional approximate cut image is generated by scanning, along a three-dimensional filling curve, an approximate cut image which is composed of N<SB>z</SB>-1 encoded frame images and the terminal frame image, and an encoded cut image is generated by applying sectional linear approximation processing to the inside of the one-dimensional approximate cut image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
