PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a solid-state imaging apparatus capable of attaining a high speed operation and reducing the power consumption by avoiding a high speed sweep-out in a data transfer period for a part of frames of interlace transfer and to provide a control method of the solid-state imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: An F/E section 3 is provided with: a means for controlling a data transfer operation of a CCD (charge coupled device) 2; a high speed sweep-out execution means for eliminating excess electric charges from a transfer path used for data transfer for an execution period of the data transfer corresponding to each of a plurality of fields of the CCD 2; and a high speed sweep-out non-execution means for deactivating the high speed sweep-out means for the execution period. Further, a CPU (central processing unit) 10 is provided with a setting means for setting which of the high speed sweep-out means and the high speed sweep-out non-execution means is to be applied to the F/E section 3 prior to execution of the data transfer corresponding to each of the plurality of fields.
