PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic-producing head which controls a temperature rise in operation even if being a simple structure and increases an output voltage. SOLUTION: Lower and upper lead layers 21, 23, which have thermoelectric functions different from each other, are adjacently located to face each other sandwiching a GMR(giant magneto-resistance) element 10, and lower and upper heat sinks 25, 26 are positioned outside it. A sense current of a proper direction passes through the GMR element 10 via the upper and lower lead layers 21, 23, thereby, a joule heat produced from the GMR element 10 is absorbed by the lower and upper heat sinks 25, 26 using a thermoelectric effect, and the GMR element 10 is cooled.
