COATING MATERIAL FOR FORMING LIGHT SHIELDING FILM OF PICTURE TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coating materials for preventing unevenness of a thickness of a light shielding film accompanying enlargement of a surface of an image display device generated at a process of forming the light shielding film on a panel to be used for a display part of a picture tube. SOLUTION: The coating materials for forming a light shielding film of picture tube is prepared by suspending carbon particles and metal oxide particles in a colloidal state in aqueous media containing a dispersant and a binder. An average particle size of the metal oxide particle ranges from 20 nm to 100 nm, and a content of the metal oxide particles ranges 1 to 50 mass% of an effective solid material in the paint.
