PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arm rest for a vehicle to be provided on a vehicle interior component, capable of giving a soft feeling of good quality in the initial period of load application, eliminating a sense of bottom abutting, and exhibiting excellent load characteristic. SOLUTION: The arm rest 20 for a vehicle is structured so that a cushion pad 24 made of a soft material is interposed between an arm rest core 21 having a shape holding function and an arm rest skin 22 formed through an injection molding process from an elastomer resin on whose inside surface spacer ribs 23 are formed in consolidation, and the tips 23a of the spacer ribs 23 are abutted to the surface of the soft cushion pad 24. In the initial period of loading when an elbow is placed, a soft feeling of good quality is obtained owing to the compressive deformation effect of the cushion pad 24, and when loading is continued, the load is absorbed effectively by the deflecting deformation of the spacer ribs 23.
