PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping device of a guide for rolling a steel bar which can enhance the space efficiency of a rolling facility, and at the same time, can realize the improvement of the efficiency of rolling work. SOLUTION: The clamping device is composed of a direct acting hydraulic cylinder 1 stored in a storage hole 4a of a rest bar 4, a clamping plate 2 for fixing the guide G for rolling the steel bar, and a clamping lock 3 which is arranged on the side opposite to a fluid pressure cylinder 1 across the clamping plate. The clamping plate 2, which is fixed to the tip of a piston rod 1a of the hydraulic cylinder 1, is movable in the rolling direction following the operation of the piston rod. The back part side of the clamping plate 2 is held by a lock bolt 11 and a lock nut 12 constituting a jack of the clamping lock 3. The jack always supports the clamping plate 2 even if troubles occur in the hydraulic system. As a result, the fixing of the guide for rolling the steel bar can not be released.
