PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recovering a surplus paint by which impurities and foreign matters are securely separated from a recovered surplus paint, and it can be used as the original powder paint. SOLUTION: The recovery method comprises: a coating stage where a powder paint 14 is sprayed on a coating object 12 ; a recovering stage where a surplus paint 16 which has not been stuck to the coating object 12 is recovered; and a washing stage where the recovered surplus paint 16 is washed with pure water 45.
