PURPOSE: A synchronous high efficiency power factor correction circuit is provided to reduce loss of element by using a synchronous rectifier, and allow for zero voltage switching. CONSTITUTION: A synchronous high efficiency power factor correction circuit comprises a booster converter unit(10), an output voltage detection unit(20), an input voltage detection unit(30), a zero voltage detection unit(40), an inductor current detection unit(60), and a comparison operating unit(50). The booster converter unit rectifies an input voltage, switches the input voltage, and outputs a stabilized voltage. The output voltage detection unit detects the voltage output from the booster converter unit. The input voltage detection unit detects the rectified voltage of the booster converter unit. The zero voltage detection unit detects voltages at both ends of a switching element of the booster converter unit. The inductor current detection unit detects a current flowing along an inductor of the booster converter unit. The comparison operating unit generates a switching control signal to the booster converter through the output voltage of the booster converter detected by the output voltage detection unit, input voltage detected by the input voltage detection unit, inductor current of the booster converter detected by the inductor current detection unit, and zero voltage detection.
