<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide drink packaging container made of glass that can be easily and safely opened, is free from food sanitation problem, is recyclable, and is socially, environmentally friendly, and is of a new type. <P>SOLUTION: The packaging container comprises a lid 20 and a glass body 11 used as a drinking glass. The lid 20 has a groove for accommodating the mouth 14 of the glass body 11. An annular elastic ring member that closely fits on the mouth 14 of the glass body 11 is fitted in the groove. Typically, a hole is made through the lid 20 and a peelable seal 40 is stuck to the external surface of the lid so to cover the hole. The glass body 11 is filled with drink 15 and the lid 20 is fitted over the glass body 11. Subsequently, vacuum of 300 to 650 mmHg is produced in the glass body 11, thereby hermetically sealing the glass body 11 with the lid 20.
