<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability concerning the range designation method for a face part in a system for calculating and segmenting a proper area as a proof photograph from the position and size of the outline of a figure on an original image. <P>SOLUTION: This proof photograph system is configured to calculate segmentation area of an image necessary for a desired proof photograph from the circumscribed rectangle of a face area designated on input image data, and to supply the segmentation image to an output device.
