PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transfer device capable of properly reproducing a sent still picture signal by setting the size of the still picture signal transferred to a desired device below an upper limit value without fail. SOLUTION: JPEG data of respective frame constituting a moving picture are transferred to the desired device by a transfer system wherein an upper limit value is provided for a single-time transfer amount like isochronous transfer. JPEG data which were transferred last are temporarily held in an SDRAM 24. A CPU 22 discriminates whether the size of currently transferred JPEG data exceeds the upper limit value. When the discrimination result is affirmative, the CPU 22 transfers the JPEG data held in the SDRAM 24, i.e. the JPEG data which were transferred last instead of the JEPG data which should currently be transferred.
