PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device capable of acquiring video information about a program, etc., similar to a broadcast program which a user desires to watch, etc. SOLUTION: The video display device is provided with an information acquisition part which acquires information about the program similar to the broadcast program which the user desires viewing by referring to a broadcast program table in which program identification information for identifying the broadcast program and the address of the program similar to the broadcast program represented by the program identification information are recorded by associating them with each other. Thus, when the desired broadcast program can not be viewed, the address of the program similar to the program is obtained, its video information is acquired and displayed.
