PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the leakage of the cooling water in a pump chamber from a seal part in a cooling water pump device. SOLUTION: In this cooling water pump device 20 comprising a shaft 22 for fixing an impeller 21 circulating the cooling water, and a case 25 defining the pump chamber 23 in which the impeller 21 is mounted, and rotatably journaling the shaft 22, a seal mechanism 90 having a plurality of seal parts 27a, 27b separated from each other in the axial direction of the shaft 22, and defining a fluid chamber 92 filled with the fluid between the case 25 and the shaft 22, is mounted between the case 25 and the shaft 22, and the pressure in the fluid chamber 92 is applied through communication passages 25c, 80 communicated with a pressure source P having relatively high pressure in comparison with the pressure of the cooling water in the pump chamber 23.
