PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door safety device of an elevator capable of preventing a passenger from coming close to a landing door without impairing the design of the landing. SOLUTION: The elevator includes a first sensor 8 detecting entrance of a passenger who enters a first detectable area 9 separated from a landing door 2 by a certain distance, a projector 10 projecting an alert image 11 to alert not to approach on the loading door 2 as a screen in accordance with the detection by the sensor 8, a second sensor 12 which detects the entrance of a passenger in a second detectable area 13 closer to the landing door 2 than the detectable area 9, and an irradiator 14 which is placed in a jamb 3 and irradiates strong light 15 in accordance with the detection by the sensor 12. The elevator calls passengers' attention by the image before they dangerously come close to the landing door 2. In case of abnormal approach, the device irradiates the strong light 15 to give intensive optical stimulation to the passenger to urge him/her to get away from the landing door 2.
