PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that since the moving region of a carriage is limited, a load is applied to a flexible signal line and print accuracy lowers. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a frame 3 having a bottom face 3a and left and right vertical sidewalls 3b formed integrally, a print head 4 performing printing while reciprocating, a circuit board 8 secured to the frame 3 for controlling the print head 4, and a flexible signal line 7 for connecting the print head 4 and the circuit board 8 electrically. The flexible signal line 7 has a curved folded-back part 7a moving in the same direction as the print head 4 moves, and an open hole 3c for projecting the folded-back part 7a of the flexible signal line 7 to the outside of the frame 3 is provided in at least one of the vertical sidewalls 3b formed in the frame 3. The bottom face 3a on which the folded-back part 7a moves is located lower than the connecting part 9a of a connector 9.
