<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program writing method for enabling an electronic device to write in a program to be executed during preparatory work of various kinds of inspection on a production line. <P>SOLUTION: When an EOL process is started, an inspection program and a storage program are stored in a RAM in an initial setting step. During each inspection preparation step, one piece of program data obtained by dividing a control program into three, transmitted from an EOL device is written into a ROM of an engine controller by a writing program.
