<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a power converter by enhancing the heat radiation properties of a smoothing capacitor, thereby miniaturizing the smoothing capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: This power converter has a case 1 which is composed of a storage section 1a and a cover 1b, a semiconductor module 2 which has a power semiconductor element 23 and is stored inside the case 1, and a smoothing capacitor 3 which is electrically connected with the power semiconductor element 23 and is stored inside the case 1. The cover 1b makes thermal contact with the smoothing capacitor 3, and it has a radiation fin 8 at a face opposite to the face which is in thermal contact with the smoothing capacitor 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
