PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of establishing a stable main link in a system including a bidirectional auxiliary channel configured to bidirectionally transfer information between a video source and a video display and a unidirectional main link configured to carry a plurality of multimedia data packets from the video source to the video display. SOLUTION: The method includes a step of using a link training session to be implemented on the auxiliary channel for establishing the stable main link before starting transmission of a multimedia data packet stream from the video source to the video display on a main channel.
