PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, electronic camera, and image processing program in which a probability of failure in white balance control is low and a probability of success is high. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises first setting means (S1-S4) each for setting a value of a first control quantity for white balance control to be applied to an image of an object, an arithmetic means (S5) for operating the balance of a chrominance signal when the white balance control for a first control quantity is applied to an achromatically detected partial region in the image, and a second setting means for setting the value of the first control quantity to the second control quantity as it is when a deviation is residual in equal to or more than a threshold (S6; NO) or for correcting the value of the first control quantity in a direction where the deviation is compressed (S7), and then setting the value to the second control quantity when the deviation is residual in just less than the threshold (S8).
