PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical writing control device for inexpensively performing an increase in operating frequency and countermeasures against EMI. SOLUTION: In a digital copying machine 1, a memory control unit 41 incorporates input image data synchronously with a transfer clock CLKV, an image processor 42 applies predetermined image processing to the incorporated image data, a pattern generator 43 etc. provides necessary imparted information to the image data subjected to the image processing, and then a lighting control unit 46 outputs the image data as signals for lighting control of a laser source synchronously with a final clock CLKW of a predetermined frequency in order to lighting-control an LD array unit 23. In this case, at least the image processor 42 is operated with an intermediate clock CLKE having a frequency different from the frequency of the final clock CLKW. Accordingly, the image processor 42 can be inexpensively operated with a plurality of frequencies, and the increase in operating frequency and countermeasures against EMI can be performed inexpensively and properly.
