摘要 <p>Nanobioprocessor (A) for protein or cellular therapy or diagnosis, comprises a quantum dot (QD) made from one or more materials with selected energy band gaps and characteristic adsorption and emission spectra, is new. Nanobioprocessor (A) for protein or cellular therapy or diagnosis, comprises a quantum dot (QD) made from one or more materials with selected energy band gaps and characteristic adsorption and emission spectra, e.g. (un)doped semiconductors, gold, zinc sulfide or cadmium selenide. QD can be heated and/or activated by electromagnetic radiation (UV, visible, near, middle or far infra red, or microwaves), or by a magnetic system so as to act specifically on an incorrectly folded protein; diseased or healthy cell, tissue, virus, bacterium, body fluid or other biological material. QD are selectively coated with a chemical or biological material (X) that binds specifically to peptide bonds, peptides, proteins, nucleic acids, viruses, bacteria, cells or composites that include peptides, proteins, nucleic acids, viruses, bacteria or cells. An independent claim is also included for a system comprising one or more (A) and a system for activation and/or heating. ACTIVITY : Nootropic; Neuroprotective; Anticonvulsant; Dermatological; Antibacterial; Virucide. No details of tests for these activities are given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Altering the secondary structure of incorrectly folded proteins, particularly beta -amyloid, or other biological molecules or cell structures, by localized heating.</p>
