Device for localizing a radio network that is operated within at least one frequency range. The device has at least a receiver device for the at least one frequency range. A display indicates the presence of a local radio network in the location of the device. The local radio network can be any of a number of standard radio networks, e.g. W-LAN, Bluetooth (RTM) or DECT. The device can also be used to compare the received energy or field strength with a predefined threshold.
