A compound represented by the general formula (I): (I) (wherein R<1> and R<2> each independently is hydrogen, halogeno, lower alkyl, etc.; R<3> is hydrogen, lower alkyl, or aralkyl and R<4> is hydrogen, lower alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, or heteroaralkyl, or R<3> and R<4> in combination form -(CH2)m-; R<5> is hydrogen, lower alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, or heteroaralkyl; R<6> is hydroxy, lower alkoxy, aralkyloxy, or -N(R<7>)(R<8>); A<1> is a bond or lower alkylene; X is a bond or oxygen; and n is an integer of 2 to 5) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt of the compound. The compound or salt has potent irritative activity against a human beta3-adrenergic receptor and is highly selective therefore.
