<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium which is excellent in preservability of a recorded image and water resistance of a thermal color-development layer surface, and which hardly causes skin fogging. <P>SOLUTION: A thermal color-development layer including a basic dye precursor and a developer is provided on a substrate, the thermal color-development layer contains an ammonium salt as a dispersant for the basic dye precursor and/or the developer. The ammonium salt is a copolymer with a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000-100,000, which is composed of maleic anhydride and α-olefin expressed by the general formula: H<SB>2</SB>C=CH-C<SB>n</SB>H<SB>2n+1</SB>(wherein n represents an integer of 6-30). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
