SEMICONDUCTOR STORAGE DEVICE AND PORTABLE ELECTRONIC APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonvolatile semiconductor storage device which can be easily miniaturized and which remarkably improves data throughput by giving a wide degree of freedom in the usage and application.

SOLUTION: This storage device is provided with: a memory array 420 in which a plurality of memory elements are arrayed; a user interface circuit 440 which is furnished with a command queue having a logic circuit for accepting a command issued by the outside user and generating a program memory address; and an array control circuit 450 which is provided with a micro-controller and a program memory for storing an execution code and performs the operation for the memory cell array. The memory element consists of a gate electrode formed on a semiconductor layer through a gate insulation film, a channel area arranged under the gate electrode, diffusion areas arranged at both sides of the channel area and having a conductive type reverse to the channel area, and memory functional bodies formed at both sides of the gate electrode and having the function for holding electric charges.
