PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coaxial connector having a simple fitting retaining mechanism at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the coaxial connector, a tip part of a center contact 6 of a male connector is formed in a spherical shape. Each tip part of an external contact 7 of the male connector, and a center contact 1 and an external contact 2 of a female connector is formed open and in a coaxial spherical shell shape with a plurality of axial slits. Each of the tip parts of the center contacts and the external contacts of the male connector and the female connector is fitted coaxially to each other. Thus, even if the center shafts of the male connector and the female connector are inclined, the impedance is not changed, allowing the fitting retaining mechanism to be simple with only a locking lever 11 on one side of the coaxial connector, and a lock receiving part 12 on the other side.
