PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for producing metallic fine particles with high reproducibility. SOLUTION: In the method of producing metallic fine particles by electrochemically reducing metal ions in a solution containing surfactants, the solution containing the surfactant expressed by chemical formula (I), and the surfactant expressed by chemical formula (II) is used, and the concentration of the surfactant expressed by the chemical formula (II) is controlled to 0.006 to 0.020 mol/L when n is 1 to 9, and to 0.002 to 0.005 mol/L when n is 10 to 15, so that the reproducibility of the rod-shaped metallic fine particles is increased: CH<SB>3</SB>(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>N<SP>+</SP>(CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>3</SB>Br<SP>-</SP>(n is the integer of 1 to 15) (I), and (CH<SB>3</SB>(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>)<SB>4</SB>N<SP>+</SP>Br<SP>-</SP>(n is the integer of 1 to 15) (II).
