PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a carrier device arranged in an upper part of a plating tank have a configuration of not moving up and down; to automatically transfer articles to be treated one by one between pretreatment and posttreatment tanks of the plating tank; and when transferring them, to make the article enter a treatment liquid while maintaining the article in an appropriate condition even if the article has an angular curve. SOLUTION: This plating apparatus comprises the plating tank, the pretreatment and posttreatment tanks, a carrier means and a hoisting means for the article to be treated, a moving means linked with the hoisting means, and a hanger for transferring the article between the carrier means and the hoisting means while supporting the article. The carrier means is arranged along the upper side of the plating tank. The hoisting means is arranged along a charging portion in the treatment tanks or the plating tank and/or the exporting portion of the plating tank. The moving means are each arranged at an ascending position and a descending position of the hoisting means in a position for transferring the article between the carrier means and the hoisting means.
