PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a calcium content attached to the surfaces of fruits in order to protect the surfaces of fruits from being mistaken as a residue of an agrochemical. SOLUTION: A calcium-containing epipastic containing a water-soluble organic acid calcium and a ligninsulfonic acid salt as essential components is sprayed as a solution in an adequate concentration to the surface of a plant. The sprayed epipastic is rapidly dried and a part of the component is left on the surface of the fruit. The residue is nearly transparent and is not mistaken as the residue of the agrochemical. The agent left to the surface of the fruit is functioned as a coating agent and injury of the surface of the fruit by contact with leaf, or the like, is prevented by the agent. Pericarp of the plant is strengthened by the absorbed calcium and injury of the surface of the fruit is prevented thereby. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
