PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize a tubular structure of aluminum silicate with the tube length controlled. SOLUTION: The tubular structure of the alumino silicate is obtained by mixing an inorganic silicon compound solution with an inorganic aluminum compound solution, adding an alkali to prepare a precursor, adjusting the solution containing the precursor to contain a quantity of anion corresponding to a desired tube length in the solution containing the precursor based on a previously determined correspondent relation between the tube length of the tubular structure and the quantity of a prescribed anion which is a factor of fixing the tube length, and heating the adjusted solution.
