A method and apparatus (10) for cleaning a component (14) of an air~ conditioning or refrigeration system which provides for flushing liquid solvent through the component (14) to remove contamination from the componen t, vaporizing the solvent flushed through the component (14) followed by removi ng the contamination from the vaporized solvent so as to clean the solvent of t he contamination, then liquefying the vaporized cleaned solvent and re-using th e liquefied solvent to again flush the component (14).
