<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte fuel cell which is superior in workabilities of such as fitting a heat insulating material, easy in movement and installation, and free from damages of a conductive separator plate or a current collector plate and damages of the cell caused by contamination and a short circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell includes a polymer electrolytic membrane, an anode and a cathode holding the membrane therebetween, a laminated material with a plurality of single cells laminated which comprise the conductive separator plate at an anode side and the conductive separator plate at a cathode side, an end plate holding the laminated material through the current collector plate and an insulating plate therebetween, and a fastening means that fastens the end plate, wherein a fastening stem of the fastening means is constituted so that it may penetrate through the conductive separator plate, and the insulating plate or the end plate of at least one of the anode side and the cathode side includes a protruded portion that protrudes nearer to an installation face side than end faces of the conductive separator plate and the current collector plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
