PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device for a cap or helmet for securing wide range and sufficient illumination toward a front direction in working or walking during night time and also securing one's safety by showing the presence of oneself towards rear and side directions. SOLUTION: This illuminating device is constituted so as to fit a mounting plate 7a mounted with an LED lamp group 3a as a head light into a member of a brim part 2 of the cap or helmet, or install at a lower side surface, and install a mounting plate 7b mounted with an LED lamp group 3b as a tail light at the rear part or side part of the cap part 1. On the mounting plate 7a, a charging outlet 4, an ON switch 5 and an OFF switch 6 are installed, and at the outside or inside of the cap part 1, a rechargeable battery 8 and a battery pocket 9 for housing the same are installed.
