PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus for cars which has a new appearance while suppressing increases in the number of light sources. SOLUTION: The display apparatus for cars is provided with a light source for emitting light at least in an exciting wavelength region; a reflective sheet fluorescent surface 80a for fluorescent emission by the excitation of light in the exciting wavelength region emitted from the light source, a background part 43 as an illumination display part to be illuminated by visible light by fluorescent emission at the fluorescent surface 80a; a scale part 41 as a fluorescent display part for fluorescent emission by the excitation of light in the exciting wavelength region emitted from the light source; a dial part 42; and a light emitting pointer part 51. Occupants of a car are made to visually recognize display contents of the fluorescent display part and the illumination display part. Since it is thereby possible to eliminate the need for a dedicated light source for emitting visible light toward the illumination display part, and the illumination display part illuminated by visible light is provided in addition to the fluorescent display part for fluorescent emission.
