PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily locate a defect of a controller IC. SOLUTION: In a controller IC 3 wherein a decoding part 5 for decoding a video signal from a tuner 2 and a control part 7 for controlling a liquid crystal display part 4 on which an image of the decoded video signal is displayed are built in a one-chip semiconductor, a signal selection part 6 is provided between the decoding part 5 and the control part 7. The signal selection part 6 switches a video signal decoded by the decoding part 5 and a test pattern signal b inputted from a pattern generator 10, in accordance with a mode switching signal c and selects the video signal a in a normal mode and selects the test pattern signal b in a test mode. The control part 7 causes a prescribed pattern image to be displayed on the liquid crystal display part 4 on the basis of the test pattern signal b selected in the test mode by the signal selection part 6.
