PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor and control amplifiers or the like even when transmission paths for control data have a narrow band in the case of monitoring and controlling the amplifiers or the like connected via a network. SOLUTION: The signal transmission device connected as one node among a plurality of nodes to the network employing voice signal transmission periods and control data transmission periods includes: a storage means for storing setting information for all of a plurality of the nodes and to each of prescribed blocks of which an error check code is provided; an error check code reception means for repetitively receiving the error check code of the other nodes; a comparison means for detecting a block in which an error takes place by comparing the received error check code with a corresponding error check code in the setting information; a transmission means for transmitting request data for requesting the transmission of the faulty block to a particular node corresponding to the block; a setting information reception means for receiving the setting information corresponding to the block; an update means for updating the block by the received setting information; and an error check code update means for generating a new error check code corresponding to the updated setting information and writing the new error check code.
