PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrifying device constituted so that the life of a photoreceptor can be prolonged, the electrification can be stably and highly accurately controlled, and also, the generation of ozone is reduced, and which can be easily manufactured. SOLUTION: A non-magnetized plastic magnet (plastic roller) equipped with a resistive layer having a volume resistivity of 10<SP>5</SP>to 10<SP>12</SP>Ωcm according to the kind of a magnetic body and the dispersion is used as a non-contact electrifying roller which is rotated following an image carrier.
