PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying method capable of reducing the setting space of the drying furnace and saving the energy without being involved in deformation of a vehicle body or the like by relatively easily enabling the reduction in length of the drying furnace. SOLUTION: This drying method of the vehicle body W comprises traveling a carrying truck 12 mounted with the vehicle body W within the drying furnace 10, and drying the surface of the vehicle body W while carrying the vehicle body W. The vehicle body W is placed in a slippage-impossible state on the carrying truck 21. The carrying truck 21 is suspended with the vehicle body W in this state, and the vehicle body W is dried while carried in a vertical attitude. According to this, the space per vehicle body within the drying furnace 10 can be minimized, compared with the case of carrying the body in a substantially horizontal sideways attitude.
