Flat sheet shock absorbers for the mounting of a ski shoe on to a ski e.g. the front and back jaws of the mounting, are arranged between the mounting and the ski itself. The shock absorbers have parts extending over the surfaces of the front and back jaws; the ends of these parts are set close together longitudinally and/or are rounded off when the shock absorbers are mounted flat. The shock absorbers are preferably made of structural foam of e.g. polyurethane, PVC or polyester.
