A process for applying an image (A) onto a concrete surface, comprises transferring the image onto an adhesive plastic film (H), which is then applied to the concrete (J) as a cover film. The concrete surface is roughened by treatment with an acid, so it appears dark. The surface areas with the cover film remain protected from the acid and are unchanged optically. After the film is removed, a light-dark contrast is achieved so images are formed on the concrete.
