The balance has a pan carrier (21) and a centered weighing pan (22) for accommodating weighed goods. The upper side of the pan carrier and the facing first side of the weighing pan have complementary centering elements. The second side of the weighing pan likewise has centering elements complementary to the centering elements of the pan carrier so that the pan can be equally centered on the carrier after rotation through 180 degrees about a horizontal axis.
