An apparatus and method for securing medical devices to an internal wall (31) of a biological lumen. In one aspect the invention is an apparatus (400) to be inserted into a biological lumen having an internal wall (31), said apparatus (400) comprising a curved needle (220) pivotable about an axis between an open position and a closed position and adapted to pierce and engage said internal wall (31) when pivoted from said open position to said closed position.
