<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking assist device capable of being mounted firmly and capable of ensuring the degree of freedom of a certain degree. <P>SOLUTION: The walking assist device is equipped with the hip joint rotary power generator (a hip joint actuator 10) mounted on the lateral part of a hip joint in order to apply assisting force to the motion of the lower limbs and the knee joint rotary power generator (knee joint actuator 26) mounted on the lateral part of a knee joint. The hip joint rotary power generator is mounted on the body through a first connection means (connection plate 30) having at least two degrees of freedom, and this hip joint rotary power generator and the knee joint rotary power generator are mutually connected through a second connection means (connection bar 25) equipped with an expansion and contraction means. By this constitution, the shift of the joint position of the human body and the mounting positions of the assisting power generators can be absorbed by the displacing action of the first connection means in a left and right direction and a twist direction, and the expansion and contraction action of the second connection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
